Chapter 25 – Yellow Coat

"Sounds convincing enough, but why do I feel like you're a fraud? Are you really from the Awakened Ones' forum?"

Lu Yu’s reply was like a pair of scissors stabbing into Sun Jun’s heart, making his already pent-up emotions explode—yet he had nowhere to vent them!

Because what the other guy said was true. He really wasn’t qualified to be on the forum. All the information he had came second-hand from friends, and then he had “artistically enhanced” it himself.

After all, if a scholar adds a bit of flair, how could that be called lying?

It’s called artistic processing!

But for Sun Jun to admit it? No way. The online world was his last refuge, his only sanctuary.

So, he began thinking of a comeback. Suddenly, a flash of inspiration hit him. Laughing out loud, he typed:

"Normally, I wouldn’t bother defending myself, but Grandpa’s in a good mood today, so I’ll tell you this—I’ve got an invitation to the Night Market! That place attracts a ton of Awakened Ones, including many from other cities. It’s a rare chance to exchange or buy powerful materials!

It’s a golden-ticket level invitation—only strong folks like me could even hope to get one."

The invitation was real—though he’d pulled a lot of strings and flattered many people to get it.

He’d even spent over half his savings on it.

But as long as he could get into the Night Market and take in the scene, he’d have bragging rights for months online!

If he managed to pick up a rare artifact or two, even better.

Night Market!

Lu Yu narrowed his eyes. He had only cast out a bait post, and unexpectedly reeled in a big fish.

The Night Market, also called the Midnight Bazaar, was a venue for commerce that took place at night.

In this world, Awakened Ones often acquired strange and powerful items during their forays into the wild.

But not everything they found was useful to them—so they needed to barter or sell items to get what they actually needed.

These markets served that exact function. The markets often contained rare materials, potential crafting resources, or even knowledge related to the supernatural world—perfect for integrating oneself into this extraordinary system.

Even just gaining some exposure would be worthwhile. Better than stumbling around blindly, not knowing what to do next.

Still, Lu Yu didn’t immediately ask for the location. After all, fishing required technique—yank too hard and the fish would break free.

So Lu Yu smirked and typed:

"Who can’t brag? I got an invitation to the Federation Banquet. They even promised to introduce me to a foreign princess—fair-skinned and gorgeous. Want more? I can keep making stuff up."

"You've gone too far!"

Sun Jun slammed the table and stood up—but separated by the screen, he was powerless. His fury had no outlet.

He was used to being the online troll—never thought he’d be trolled like this!

So, he pulled out the invitation and took a photo of it, address included—but didn’t send it right away.

Although furious, he hadn’t lost his head. He knew boasting too much about Awakened business would get him punished.

So he chose the private chat flash image function—viewable only for five seconds, no screenshots allowed—just enough to prove he did have the invitation.

"Gotcha, keyboard warrior! Bet you’ve got nothing to say now!"

Sun Jun stared wide-eyed at the screen, waiting for the guy to realize he’d just offended a real Awakened One—surely he’d panic, beg for forgiveness.

Should be hilarious, right?

Would he cry?

Sun Jun had already mentally drafted a full script. First, he’d lecture him like a senior, then graciously forgive him. That way, the kid would cry tears of gratitude, and Sun Jun’s noble aura would shine.

And since the kid was clearly a little delusional, he might even start idolizing him afterward.

“Ah… the life of an Awakened One—so simple, so joyful!”

Ding!

A new message popped up, tugging at Sun Jun’s anticipation. He quickly clicked it open:

"Toolman. Goodbye."

Sun Jun froze.

Then instinctively typed:

"???"

Meanwhile, Lu Yu had already noted the address printed in the lower right corner of the invitation:

No.17, East Baihua Alley, Northern Suburbs of Hang City.

A sparsely populated area near the outskirts—just outside Hang City’s northern boundary, almost at the edge of the wilderness.

Now that he had the location, Lu Yu immediately discarded the “toolman.” But instead of deleting him, he chose to block him.

Just in case he needed him again later—he could unblock him, ask a question, then throw him back in the blacklist.

A toolman should know his place!

Thinking that, Lu Yu glanced at the setting sun. It was almost nightfall. He stood up and began preparing his outfit.

He had already used one disguise. If he wore the same getup to the Night Market, he’d definitely attract attention.

He rummaged through the wardrobe and pulled out a bright yellow trench coat, along with a white mask bearing a creepy smile.

Putting them on, he lowered his voice and spoke in a deep tone:

"When Night falls the Yellow Coat walks!"
